Günzenen
Günzenen lies at the eastern end and on the northern slope of the Stockhorn range. The grazing area slopes mainly to the north-east and the ring-shaped pasture above the Riedwald forest borders on the watershed with the rather steep pasture. In the west, the alp is separated from the Längenberg alp by the Solegg. The sandy loam soil provides, except for some wet spots, a short, good alpine forage, which has been improved. In wet summers, the soil is mostly susceptible to trampling, and the pasture is bristly in places. The altitude between 1200 and 1400 m a.s.l. is exposed to the breeze. The altitude between 1200 and 1400 m a.s.l. is exposed to the breeze, mitigated by the surrounding forest.
WAYS TO THE ALP
The alp is easily accessible by car on the goods road (buy a permit at the ticket machine in Reutigen!). It can be reached on foot from the Wimmis station (629 m) around the Simmenfluh and through the Riedwald forest, after about four kilometres, or from the Reutigen post bus stop (622 m) either leisurely on the unpaved goods road in about four kilometres, or steeply along the Chratzhaltengraben in only two kilometres. All hiking trails lead mostly through the shady forest.
