Discover our animal friends in the Grizzly Bear Zoo
There are currently around 100 animals in the Grizzly Bear Zoo from 10 different species. They romp around on the winding paths and pastures.
In addition to the long-standing alpacas , two genetic relatives were added last October - the llamas. Last year we were also able to welcome four more rabbits to our loner Hasi, so that he can also spend time with his fellow rabbits.
Billy the donkey is certainly one of our highlights, who has been making a loud appearance at our zoo since May 2021 :-) - he is cuddly and likes children very much. He is the cavalier of our two pony ladies:-).
The kittens are here!
Four mommies were able to share their happiness: two chicken mommies, one woolly pig mommy and one duck mommy.
After a gestation period of approx. 115 - 118 days, the mama woolly pig gave birth to her 8 piglets healthy and voracious. The piglets have to drink very often so that they can take in enough milk. The little rascals have already grown twice as much, it goes incredibly fast. They are also very curious and playful, and you can see them having fun wrestling every day.
The mother chickens started to hatch after about 21 days, the first hatched nine little chicks and the second another six bibis. They are colourful and after about 2 months they are already fully grown and independent, but until then the chicken mothers took care of their little offspring, they protect them, let them warm under their feathers and every little peck had to be learned by the mothers. There were also 4 little chicks among the wild ducks , which now share the small pond with the geese.
Our animal park is rounded off with our good-natured sheep and mowing goats.
