Regional commitment

We invest in our region

Hauenstein Group's corporate vision states "We actively develop the Lake Thun region. It should be an attractive place to live, work, and enjoy."

With their range of offerings, Hauenstein Hotels not only provide first-class hotels and resturants around Lake Thun, they also support the region whenever it is possible and makes sense.

What we do:

  • We support local events such as the Lake Thun Outdoor Theatre, the Seaside Festival, and many more.
  • We sponsor local sports clubs such as Wacker Thun and FC Steffisburg.
  • We cultivate collaboration within the region such as with the BLS, the Niederhorn or the Stockhorn railways.

Raw materials & partnerships

We place the highest demands on suppliers and products

The sustainable use of raw materials is particularly important to us. In addition, we want to offer our guests the highest possible product quality; which we can both identify with and verify. That is why we are committed to regional sourcing and seasonal use of raw materials.

Social engagement

We assume responsibility with respect to our employees

Our employees are the most important source of our success. Our employees should be able to identify with the company and the company with our employees. Our corporate culture promotes development, a willingness to learn and perform, trusting and inspiring cooperation, and the well-being of our employees.

What we do:

Energy & Environment

We use resources responsibly

Preserving the environment concerns us all. That is why we are particularly responsible with our resources and with the resources of the environment. In addition, we reduce costs in the long term - for energy and maintenance, for example. This contributes to the economic preservation of the company, secures jobs and strengthens the economy. We are committed to a strong Swiss future. All our operations have the "Swisstainable" label.

What we do:

  • We rely on heat recovery and state-of-the-art technology like photovoltaic systems and solar energy.
  • We are gradually replacing our light bulbs, lifts, dishwashers, washing machines, tumble dryers, boilers and shower heads in our establishments with those requiring the lowest possible power consumption.
  • We avoid using plastic and consider partners and suppliers who also avoid it as much as possible.
  • We work "paperless" wherever possible and ensure we print as little as possible.
  • We are constantly optimising our work processes in order to work efficiently and conserve resources.
