River cruise with a view of the Jungfrau & Co.
At the entrance in Thun-Schwäbis, the boaters buzz around on summer days. Packing their waterproof bags, pumping up their boats. Barely in the water, the current carries them away. Past green banks and changing mountains in the background. After the snow-covered peaks of the Blüemlisalp comes the Uttiger wave. Large rocks in the middle of the river form a sill below the water surface. It's not the roar that announces the splashing adventure, but the whooping and screeching of the booters.
Impressive Nagelfluh walls line the left bank. The Niesen and Stockhorn dominate the view before the slopes of the Belpberg pass by. The Belper Giessen begins, one of the largest remaining alluvial landscapes in Switzerland. River arms flow into the Aare and lovely spots invite you to linger. Before Bern, pretty river loops follow before the heads in the water multiply. The stretch between Eichholz and Marzili is particularly popular for swimmers of all ages. The final stop is in the Marzili before the Schwellenmätteli and the three- to four-hour boat trip will remain in your memory.
