In the Gantrisch region - a perfect day out for the whole family
When the weather gets warmer in summer, the last snow melts and the flowers bloom, we are drawn to the mountains. In the Gantrisch region, not far from the town of Thun, great adventures await the whole family.
The journey is the destination
The Gantrisch region can be reached by car or public transport. Buses run regularly from Thun via Thurnen, Toffen or Kehrsatz in the direction of Gantrisch. Some excursion destinations require a little more patience. Nevertheless, for the sake of nature, it is advisable to travel by public transport. The aim is to protect the places we love to visit and marvel at so that we can enjoy them for a long time to come. Those arriving by car will find various parking options throughout the Gantrisch region.
Circular hike to the Gantrisch Seeli
There are hiking trails in the Gantrisch region for every level of ability to make the most of the energy that spring brings. The short but beautiful trail to the Gantrischseeli is particularly suitable for families. All around you are the mountains, grazing cows and the glistening waters of the lake, in which, of course, you have to take a dip. Safe fireplaces were provided at the Gantrischseeli and throughout the area. So nothing stands in the way of a picnic with the whole family.

Fun and games on the "Gäggersteg" theme trail
As beautiful as it is to marvel at the magnificent mountain landscape, it is also interesting to learn something about it. On the Gäggersteg, one of the themed trails in the Gantrisch region, you can do just that. There is plenty to learn about the flora and fauna in the treetops above the wooden walkway and enjoy the beautiful views at the same time.
Regional products from the Dittligmühle
Is there a better smell than that of freshly baked bread? Flour is traditionally produced at the Dittligmühle mill in Längenbühl. This production process can be viewed in the mill. Various types of flour are available to buy in the store, including "Ruck Zuck mixes", which make baking easier. The Mühli Bistro offers coffee and cake, outside on the terrace or inside in the cozy parlor.

Adventure at Schwarzsee
If you are traveling from Thun and have a little more time, you can travel over the Gantrisch to Schwarzsee. This is a popular meeting place for families and offers plenty of adventure. A circular trail around the lake, high up on foot or by chairlift, a rapid descent on the toboggan run or a delicious picnic at one of the designated spots. There is also a lot to learn about the nature and history of the area around the Schwarzsee. The themed trail set up for this purpose turns learning into fun!
Satisfy the bear's hunger in Grizzly Bear Adventureland
After a successful but exhausting day in the great outdoors, a feast awaits the whole family at the Grizzly Bear Adventure Land. If you have some time to spare, you can play a round of mini golf beforehand, visit the mule, duck and co. in the animal park or let off steam in the playground. On the terrace with a view of Lake Dittligsee, you can satisfy your hunger for bears. The offer is specially designed for families, whether for a snack or a big appetite in the evening.
