Skiing with a view of Lake Thun
Skiing in the Bernese Oberland is every winter again a joyful experience. The large areas around the Jungfrau, in Gstaad or in the Haslital enjoy great popularity. But did you know that there are also fantastic smaller ski areas around Lake Thun?
Aeschi
A small but fine skiing area with a view of Lake Thun. Especially families appreciate the slopes around Aeschi. In addition to the four ski lifts, which provide access to twelve kilometers of slopes, there is a 35-kilometer cross-country ski trail in the adjacent Suldtal valley. If the winter means well with the snow conditions, the lifts are operated from December to February.
Schwanden-Sigriswil
The Schwanden-Sigriswil ski resort has three ski lifts. On this side of Lake Thun, visitors are rewarded with a view of the Niesen and Lake Thun. At the Allmendschwand platter lift, beginners can practice their first attempts at skiing or snowboarding on 350 meters of piste. The two other ski lifts Schwanden and Wileralmi are suitable for all levels of ability. In the adjacent Justistal, a cross-country ski trail stretches over 23 kilometers.
Niederhorn
One ski lift and four slopes for every level. On the Niederhorn there is something for everyone. Depending on snow conditions, it is even possible to ski all the way to Beatenberg. Not only skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the magical winter world on the Niederhorn. The area is also ideal for sledging or winter hiking.
