Despite the rainy morning, we are not discouraged and decide to make the most of our day. With a cup of coffee in hand, we enjoy the view of Lake Thun from the restaurant. The sight is already breathtaking, but we know that the sun will work its magic when it finally fights its way through the clouds.

The rain has made our desire to hop in the outdoor pool disappear. We decide to go to the wellness area. As we enter the room, we feel a deep calm that immediately relaxes us. It is half past ten in the morning and we are alone. After a relaxing steam bath and cooling off at the drinking fountain, we find ourselves in the relaxation room overlooking the infinity pool. We see the sun slowly making itself felt through the clouds.

In the following hour we enjoy the various saunas and steam baths, accompanied by moments of relaxation in the relaxation room. A bubbling bath in the indoor whirlpool loosens even the last tense muscles. When the sun finally appears in full glory, we hesitate no longer and venture into the solar-heated outdoor pool. The contrast between the cool weather and the pleasantly heated water makes swimming an unforgettable experience.

But even two lovers can get hungry*wink wink*. We get dressed again and hit the road. We studied the hotel's offer a few days before our arrival. The Captain's Bar invites you for lunch. The small but fine menu offers some culinary delights. However, we discovered the possibility that you can have a picnic basket put together. We find the offer particularly romantic and therefore ordered the picnic basket in advance. We pick up the basket directly at the reception and get from the hotel director personally some tips with beautiful places around the hotel. The hotel park with its niches and sap green grass promises quiet togetherness to enjoy.

However, the soft grass is still too wet to sit on. Nevertheless, the setting for our meal is perfect. We sit down on a bench overlooking Lake Thun, surrounded by the beauty of nature.

The picnic basket contains delicious sandwiches, fresh fruit and a bottle of white wine. In addition, there are salty peanuts for the aperitif and two Toblerones for dessert. We toast to life, love and the perfect day at the Strandhotel Belvédère.

The lake looks tempting and so we pack the food back into the basket and head for the private lido of the Belvédère Strandhotel. Access is only possible for hotel guests. The path leads behind the hotel park down stairs, past houses until we land in front of the gate of the lido. The room card unlocks the lock. Behind the gate, the bathing oasis already awaits us. Here, too, we are the first. There are sun loungers in the gravel or on the wooden deck. Those who prefer the shade have the possibility to rest on the deck chairs under the weeping willow and admire the lake. We decide for the wooden deck.

Due to the sun it is warm and already dry. Despite the available deck chairs, we sit down on the sun-warmed ground. We pour ourselves another glass of wine, nibble nuts and sweeten the end with Toblerone. We talk, cuddle and enjoy it on the deck. I notice the sun burning on my back and am now ready to jump into the lake. The lido has a changing room, a toilet and an outdoor shower. A refrigerator with water bottles for self-service is also ready. Changed and full of conviction, I stand in front of the stairs leading into the lake. I feel the temperature with my big toe. For my conditions the lake is very cold due to the weather change in the last days, nevertheless, I jump in. After splashing around for a few minutes, I get out of the water again and dry off in the sun on the deck.

The last drop of wine we divide fairly between our two glasses. We enjoy the view, watch the shipping traffic at the harbor and the stand-up paddlers in the water. The day is slowly coming to an end. We've done our bodies good, we've enjoyed our togetherness, and we've been feasted. What more could you want? We pack up. But before we walk up to the hotel, we stroll along the lake towards Spiez harbor.

The path is busy and full of life, boats sail in and out, children play on the shore and the view is simply picturesque. It is a beautiful interplay of tourism, nature and the lake that delights us.
