From the village - for the village: The Grizzly Pub opened despite a shortage of skilled workers
The Grizzly Pub, the only place to go out in the Forst-Längenbühl area, has reopened its doors, thanks to the commitment of a few villagers. The bar is not run by employees of the Grizzly Bear Adventure Land, but by people from the village and surrounding area. The reopening is particularly exciting. At the beginning of 2020, the Grizzly Pub had to close temporarily due to the coronavirus pandemic and was unable to reopen due to a shortage of skilled staff. But the village community, and the Bättig family in particular, were not discouraged. Thanks to the cooperation of the villagers, the popular bar was able to welcome guests again last year. The aim is to repeat this success and once again make the pub a lively meeting place for young and old.
The driving force behind this initiative is made up of two key pillars: On the one hand, the Bättig family plays a central role. On the other hand, the Grizzly Bear Adventureland team is involved in the organization, including orders, programme design and advertising measures.
The Bättig family have always lived near the Grizzly Bear Adventure Land and have a personal connection to this place and its significance for society. The two sisters Martina and Nicole Bättig can now be found behind the bar at the Grizzly Pub. They have taken responsibility for the shift roster and have successfully motivated people from the village and the surrounding area to actively participate in the running of the Grizzly Pub.
"The Grizzly Pub has always been an important meeting place in the village and the region," explains Martina Bättig. "People were already meeting here in my father's youth. We want to continue this tradition and offer residents from the village and the surrounding area the opportunity to meet up here and have fun. It is therefore a matter close to all our hearts to keep the Grizzly Pub alive. We are delighted that the bar will be open throughout the winter and that we can offer some exciting events for our guests.
Most of the DJs who will be playing at the Grizzly Pub are also connected to the region and are looking forward to making their contribution.
The Grizzly Pub therefore remains not only an important meeting place in the village, but also a place where the village community comes together to celebrate and exchange ideas.
