Swimming spots around Lake Thun
On a discovery tour around Lake Thun, you can cool off in a swimming pool a whole ten times and enjoy the summer weather. Pack your swimwear and jump into the lake. Our route takes us up the north shore of Lake Thun and down the south shore until we arrive back in Thun.
Beach bathHünegg
We make our first stop in Hilterfingen. A small gem on Lake Thun with an Italian ambience. The lido Hünegg offers a sunbathing lawn, a raft in the water and a children's pool. The more daring jump head first from the diving tower into the cool water. The restaurant will spoil you with delicacies from the neighboring country Italy. If you stop by on Friday evenings between 6:00 and 10:00 p.m., you can enjoy the apericena "Serata all'Italiana" (until the end of August). A visit with hunger is worthwhile.

Oberhofen lido
Vacation feelings come up at the lido Oberhofen. From the sunbathing lawn you have a wonderful view of the 5-meter diving tower. In the lake you will also find a wooden raft for relaxation as well as a non-swimmer area with a small slide. The Badi restaurant serves classic summer dishes to enjoy.

Opening hours: daily from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. | In case of bad weather the bathing area remains closed
Lido Gunten
The small but fine Hirschen-Bedli invites you to linger. The trees offer shady places on the hot summer days. Over the pebble beach you can go directly into the lake. In addition, the lido has a non-swimmer area in the lake. In the Badibeizli you can enjoy cool drinks and fine food. For the sporty ones there is a beach volleyball court to let off steam.

Merlingen lido
If Lake Thun is too cold for swimming, you should definitely visit the lido Merlingen. It has the only heated pool directly on the lake. The jump into the wet can therefore be done at an average temperature of 23 °C. After swimming, you can fortify yourself with food and drink at the Bristo.
Entrance fee: children: CHF 4.50 / adults: CHF 8.50 | Season: from mid-May to mid-September
Opening hours: daily from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. | During the summer vacations, weather permitting, until 9:00 p.m.
Leissigen lido
Whether swimmer or not - everyone can cool off in the lake at the lido in Leissigen. The brave ones dare to jump into the lake via a diving board. For the little ones there is also a paddling pool, a water slide and a sandpit.

Lake resort Krattigen
The Krattiger bathing area is ideal to treat yourself to a short and cooling lake swim after a hot day at work or after a hike in the Bernese Oberland. Changing facilities, toilets and showers are available. For the hungry, the Ristorante Lido da Elio with fine wood-fired pizzas and other delicacies is located right next to the lake bath.

Faulensee lakeside resort
The lakeside resort of Faulensee is located on the southern shore of Lake Thun. On the well-kept sunbathing lawn you can enjoy the view of the mountains. Over stairs you can get into the cooling lake. On the raft in the water you can take a leisurely break in the sun before swimming back to the shore.

Spiez beach and outdoor pool
86 meters - that's the length of the slide at the Spiez outdoor pool, making it the longest in the Bernese Oberland. A real highlight. Besides the lake access, a raft and a non-swimmer area in the lake, there is a 50m pool, a paddling pool for the little ones and a diving board (1m and 3m). If you are hungry, you can eat in the restaurant and enjoy the wonderful view. Or you can take some wood (free of charge) and fire up the grill. A bath that invites you to linger.

Badi Neuhaus Unterseen
A beautiful bathing place in Unterseen, which is especially attractive for water sports enthusiasts. A large sunbathing lawn and some shady trees offer relaxation. Stand-up paddling and kite surfing equipment, pedalos, kayaks and rowing boats can be rented at the adjacent water sports center. For those who prefer to do sports on land, the bathing center has beach volleyball courts.

Thun lido "Strämu
Probably the largest bathing area on Lake Thun with a large sunbathing lawn, shady trees and a 10-meter diving tower. The "Strämu", as the lido is affectionately called in the area, invites you to a day of swimming. It is worthwhile to plan enough time and discover the bathing area with all its attractions. Whether small or large bathers - the lido pleases everyone. In the Strämu-Beizli you can enjoy the view of Lake Thun and the mountains while you eat.
