Is there anything better than enjoying the beautiful weather outside on balmy summer evenings or days off? Bright sunshine, blue skies, delicious sausages and fine vegetables from the grill. All around Lake Thun there are wonderful barbecue facilities with great views, fun playgrounds and refreshing waters for the whole family.

In the middle of the alpine meadow on Bodenalp, Beatenberg you will discover a simple fire pit with a captivating view of Lake Thun and the Alpine panorama. This view must be earned! Either by climbing the steep ascent from the valley station of the Niederhorn cable car direction Bode/Vorsass, or via the more leisurely walk from the Vorsass middle station. The Chalbergunte fire pit in Reichenbach is a little easier to reach. Parking spaces and a bus stop are within easy reach. Thanks to the large playground with slide, swings and climbing tower, this BBQ area is particularly family-friendly. Swimming in the Chalberglunte stteam is also a welcome pleasure on hot days ..... and not just for children.
