Peter Soltermann AG - The history of pioneers
"Did you know that in 1886 the Swiss Julius Maggi invented a seasoning sauce that is still famous today? At the same time, Albrecht Wägli laid the foundation stone of today's Peter Soltermann AG in the Obere Hauptgasse in Thun."
In 1886, not only did the seasoning of food take on a new role in our everyday lives, but Albrecht Wägli also did "regional pioneering work" and founded a racy locksmith's business on Obere Hauptgasse, in the heart of Thun.
In 1925, Gustav Ludwig Hertz received the Nobel Prize in Physics - Our company built a new building on Bernstrasse in Thun. I, Daniela Soltermann, saw the light of day on this beautiful spot of earth. The world of a metal construction family.
On Bernstrasse, the well-known Soltermanns cast in metal still stand and sit today, enjoying the colourful hustle and bustle of our beautiful city. They are also a reminder of our former location, where we were active for over 70 years.
With a lot of hard work and dedication, the small locksmith's shop developed into a regionally important metal construction company, consisting of 30 hard-working and conscientious employees.
Today you will find us a little outside the city, on Militärstrasse, in a large and modern company premises.
Since 2017, I have been managing Peter Soltermann AG as owner and managing director in the 5th generation and have been able to take over and continue a solid, quality-conscious and regionally anchored company from my father, who also gave the company its name. I have not only taken over the name of the company, but also its values, which have proven themselves over the last 135 years and are appreciated by our customers, employees and partners.
If you would like to realise your dream in metal and glass, we are at your disposal with pleasure and commitment. You can find us at Militärstrasse 6 in 3600 Thun or from the comfort of your own home at www.soltermann.ch. Browse through our homepage and be inspired by our extensive activities.
We look forward to seeing you!
