We take you on a romantic weekend on Lake Thun with lots of enjoyment and relaxation.

The goal was clear, we wanted to spend a romantic weekend on Lake Thun. Just switch off and relax a little. For us, it is always very important that the hotel has a good restaurant and a good bar where you can linger in the evening. The Belvédère Strandhotel with its beautiful infinity pool - in an elevated location in Spiez - with its culinary offer and the wonderful view from the Captain's Bar seemed just right to us.

We were full of anticipation for our weekend of enjoyment in Spiez. The journey worked wonderfully, as soon as you got off the motorway, you were almost at the hotel. The lobby is very inviting and we didn't have to wait long to check in.

The check-in was very friendly and everything we needed was explained to us. We were also given two vouchers for a cocktail/mocktail each in the Captain's Bar.

When we moved into our room, we really enjoyed the view for the first time. The large and spacious corner room had a balcony with a breathtaking view of Lake Thun.

In the room we found a personal welcome card from the hotel management, together with some sweet chocolates and fruits.

We enjoyed the afternoon in the wellness area. It is rather small and fine, but offers a lot. We were particularly taken with the heated inifinity pool, from which you have a beautiful view of the park and Lake Thun.

From the infinity pool you can slip straight into the barrel sauna. This is outside, so the change was quite cold ;-). But you could warm up wonderfully in the Finnish sauna with almost 70 degrees.

A successful wellness afternoon naturally also includes a relaxing massage, which we were able to book in advance. Afterwards we were totally relaxed, our backs were free of knots again and we were looking forward to our evening programme.

We love good cocktails! That's why we really wanted to stop by the Captain's Bar before dinner. The bar menu is very extensive - so we had something recommended to us. Although the weather had changed a bit in the meantime, we wanted to sit outside so we could enjoy the view to the fullest. After a short while, a cosy blanket was brought to me and soft music could be heard in the background.

Dinner in the hotel restaurant was excellent. The atmosphere was very pleasant, the service very courteous and attentive and the food was delicious all around. We enjoyed our meal and the beautiful candlelit view over the bay of Spiez.

We were particularly impressed by the variety of the wine list. We were advised very well by the hotel manager and he then recommended a wine - based on our preferences. He hit the bull's eye completely.

Later, we were allowed to visit the wine cellar of the hotel with him and he explained a lot of exciting things about the very exquisite wine collection of the hotel. All in all, a wonderful evening.

We had a little nightcap on our balcony, enjoyed the view and then fell into bed, exhausted.

All in all, the stay at the Belvédère Strandhotel was a complete success. Clearly a hotel for connoisseurs who appreciate personal service and want to enjoy themselves. We will be happy to come back again!
