Tobogganing fun - adventurous toboggan runs in the Bernese Oberland
Whether fast or leisurely, once or several times, big or small - the numerous toboggan runs in the Lake Thun region offer fun and adventure for tobogganing pros and novices alike.
Niederhorn-Vorsass
The Niederhorn stretches along the right bank of Lake Thun at over 2000 meters above sea level. Ambitious sledgers can reach the summit on foot, either from Beatenberg or the Vorsass middle station. Those who prefer to use the time for one more descent can take the gondola to the Niederhorn and then whizz down to the Vorsass middle station. A breathtaking view of Lake Thun, the surrounding mountains and, depending on the weather, the sea of fog over the entire Thun region awaits you at the summit. The toboggan run is three kilometers long and winds its way through forests and passages with fantastic views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Small Scheidegg-Wengen
The journey to Kleine Scheidegg is possible via two sides of the valley. Either via Grindelwald or Wengen. Once you arrive on Kleine Scheidegg, there are also various ways to make the most of the sledging fun. Our recommendation is the so-called "Fox Run" to Wengen. The 4.5-kilometre run is right next to the famous Lauberhorn downhill run, where skiers such as Marco Odermatt and Didier Cuche used to compete in the World Cup downhill race every January. You can take the train from Wengen back up the mountain as often as you like and then sledge down.

Bussalp-Grindelwald
While we're in the region, we head to the other side of the valley, to Grindelwald. The bus takes us up to Bussalp, where the sledging fun can begin. The descent back to Grindelwald is over 3.5 kilometers long.

Another highlight awaits ambitious tobogganists in the Grindelwald region: the longest toboggan run in the world. However, you first have to earn this descent with a two-hour hike.

Tschentenalp-Adelboden
From Adelboden to Tschentenalp, where there are several slopes for every level of ability. The descent from Tschentenalp at almost 2000 meters above sea level down into the valley is either leisurely or fast. Sledges can also be hired on site, but that's not all. The brave can whizz down the slopes on unconventional equipment. Skigibl? Airboard? Or the classic Davos sledge? Here you will find everything to make your sledging heart beat faster.

Wiriehorn
The five-kilometre toboggan run takes you from the Wiriehorn back down to the Diemtigtal valley. In the middle of the Gantrisch Nature Park, you can enjoy the view of the snow-covered mountains. The chairlift ride up to the mountain station is worth a visit in itself. It's up to you whether you go up the mountain a second and third time after the first descent, or whether a delicious rösti awaits you in one of the restaurants. If you are on the Wiriehorn until dusk, you can ski down the mountain one last time at night.
