Success story: in conversation with Taweesak Ammann
Taweesak Ammann, also known as Taki, completed his apprenticeship as a chef at the Solbadhotel Sigriswil and can now be found at reception. We met him for a chat.
When did you start here and as what?
I started my apprenticeship as a chef at the Solbad in 2015I chose the Solbadhotel to complete my apprenticeship as a chef EFZ in 2015.
What is your current position?
I am currently working as a receptionist at the front desk of the Solbadhotel Sigriswil.
What are your activities in your current position?
My work as a receptionist begins even before the guests arrive. I answer emails and make phone calls, from offers to final reservations. My daily tasks include greeting our guests, checking them in, making their stay as pleasant as possible and saying goodbye to them.
What do you particularly like about your job?
Every day at the Solbadhotel Sigriswil is a special and exciting working day that my team and I get to experience with the guests. That's why I really enjoy getting to know new people and cultures. What makes me happiest is the reaction of the guests when they have been looked after by me and come away with a smile.
Why did you decide to work here? What makes the Solbadhotel stand out?
When I was looking for an apprenticeship, I always wanted to work in a hotel because I was very enthusiastic about the hotel and catering industry. However, it was important to me to stay in the region, as I feel very much at home in the mountains and on Lake Thun. At that time, I had already had a taste of many different hotels, but none of them impressed me as much as the Solbadhotel Sigriswil. I really enjoy working at the Solbadhotel Sigriswil because I like working in this family team and they support me during my studies to become a qualified hotelier-gastronomer HF.
Do you have career plans for the future?
I am currently a student at the hotel management school in Thun. It's not yet clear where my journey will take me after my studies. My goal is to run a hotel or restaurant one day and pass on my knowledge.
