On the road between heaven and earth
340 metres long, 180 metres high - the suspension bridge in Sigriswil crosses the Gummischlucht Gorge and provides the local population with a route to the nearby village of Aeschlen. Easy to reach from both sides, it is the ideal "starter suspension bridge". The solid construction and side walls give the impression that one is walking on solid ground. Shakier but shorter is the suspension bridge over the Spissibach in Leissligen, which you reach via the Meielisalp on the Stoffelberg. For 142 metres, nothing stands in the way of a 60-metre deep view into the gorge. Both suspension bridges allow you a spectacular view of Lake Thun and are part of the Thun panoramic circular trail.
At a dizzying height, but with a secure footing on solid ground, the platform on the north face of the Stockhorn presents you with a wonderful 240° view of the surrounding mountains and lakes. The Stockhorn cable car whisks you from the Erlenbach valley station to the viewing platform in just a few minutes. Amaze at the Central Swiss Plateau, the Jura mountain chain, Lake Neuchâtel and, on clear days, the Black Forest in Germany.
