We are actively helping to develop the Lake Thun region

From wellness to housing, from family experiences to physical therapy—how the Hauenstein Group brings generations together and shapes quality of life.
"Every year, we take a very close look: Where do we need more comfort, more sustainability, and higher quality? We maintain our homes with the same care you’d use to tend a garden—consistently, thoughtfully, and with an eye for detail."
Andrea Hauenstein, Executive Management of the Hauenstein Group
Wherever construction takes place, more than just space is created. Those who develop a region help shape the way it feels—how people live, work, stay healthy, and find peace there. The Hauenstein Group has been doing this for over 70 years—through residential spaces, hotels, and healthcare services. And always with an eye for what is truly needed.
The Hauenstein Group includes Hauenstein Immobilien AG, Klinik Schönberg AG, and Hauenstein Hotels —which operates the Belvédère Strandhotel in Spiez, the Deltapark Vitalresort in Gwatt, and the Solbadhotel in Sigriswil. The Burehuus restaurant and the Grizzlybär adventure park are also part of the portfolio. With approximately 650 people who serve as hosts, enablers, and co-developers here every day, the group is one of the largest employers in the region.
Family-owned for three generations: Today, twin sisters Nathalie and Andrea Hauenstein lead the group—strong in business, approachable, and deeply connected to Lake Thun.
Investments and Further Development of the Hauenstein Hotels
To enable the group to actively shape the region in this very way, it invests in its properties in a deliberate and forward-looking manner. Annual inspections, well-planned renovations, and targeted upgrades—whether in the wellness facilities, the amenities, or technical areas—ensure that guest comfort is never left to chance.

The “Waldhaus” Gwatt Project—the region has much to look forward to
A historic building is being reimagined: Right in the heart of the Deltapark Vitalresort, a new destination is taking shape that combines hospitality, fitness, and wellness. Starting in November 2025, after about a year of construction, the Waldhaus—one of the three nostalgic tent-style buildings—will reopen with a fresh new look and a new range of offerings.
Four luxurious wellness suites are planned, each spanning two floors. The suites combine the wellness experience with overnight accommodations—in complete privacy, equipped with a sauna, whirlpool, and stylish interiors.
"The Waldhaus brings together what defines us as a group: entrepreneurship, hospitality, and well-being—all of it together."
Nathalie Hauenstein, Executive Management of the Hauenstein Group

The expanded fitness center will be located on the ground floor. The offerings will be complemented by another branch of PhysioFit Schönberg. Whether it’s traditional physical therapy, medical exercise therapy, pelvic floor physical therapy, or the innovative pelvic floor training with PelviPower—the health services are designed for both hotel guests and people from the region. The relocation of the fitness area will create space for new developments at the Landhaus: an expansion of the Delta Spa is already in the planning stages. Of particular importance: the renovation of the Waldhaus is being carried out in close collaboration with regional craft businesses and partner firms. From construction management to interior design, Hauenstein Immobilien AG prioritizes short supply chains, local value creation, and long-standing partnerships. The Waldhaus is more than just a building. It symbolizes how Hauenstein Immobilien AG creates spaces that inspire—for guests, for locals, and for generations to come. And it also marks a special turning point: The grounds of the Deltapark Vitalresort once belonged to the Schönberg Clinic. Today, the PhysioFit Schönberg brand is returning with new offerings—reuniting what once belonged together.
The combination of health, recreation, and architecture demonstrates what is possible when a family-owned business takes responsibility. In a very practical, very concrete way—and with a strong connection to the region.
"When we build, we do so together with people from the region—that shapes the quality and makes all the difference."
Andrea Hauenstein, Executive Management of the Hauenstein Group
